Yet more cudos for Yuan Gao, former Julius and Cheng lab graduate student, who received the prestigious Clements Distinguished Thesis Award from the UCSF Biophysics Graduate Program, in recognition of his work describing cryo-EM structures of the TRPV1 ion channel in lipid nanodiscs. Yuan is now a Damon Runyon Postdoctoral Fellow in the Rapoport lab at Harvard Medical School.
